Summary

Companies should provide resources appropriate to the size of the site to allow the best opportunity to plan the works.

Having the right personnel present will allow all aspects of the job to be assessed and may lead to the risks that would not have been identified by one person being seen and controls being put in place.

Having the right environment that allows the planning team to be able to concentrate on the work they are doing in comfort and with the right level of equipment will ensure that you get the best out of the time available to plan the work.

On the following page is a suggestion of what a suitable planning environment might be for:

1. A transient worksite
2. A small or short duration site
3. A large site
